Donald Norwood, LMT

I'm a massage therapist specializing in therapeutic massage and ayurvedic bodywork. Through informed and holistic massage, I help my clients find relief from pain, recover from injuries and reduce the effects of stress. I have worked with professional athletes, including the Washington NFL team, and nationally and internationally ranked amateur athletes.

I'm a graduate of the Potomac Massage Training Institute (PMTI), the most comprehensive massage therapy training program in the Mid-Atlantic region with a rigorous 600-hour curriculum that combines strong academics with extensive clinical training. I have also completed an additional 150 hour advanced certification program in myofascial and structural bodywork at PMTI.

I am a member of PMTI's faculty as a teaching assistant covering coursework in musculoskeletal anatomy, kinesiology and pathology.

In addition to my training at PMTI, I have completed 100 hours of training in Ayurveda and Ayurvedic bodywork at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and with Jai Dev Singh, former Clinical Director at the California College of Ayurveda.

I am certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, licensed by the Heath Professionals Licensing Administration to practice in the District of Columbia and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association.

Whether you come for therapeutic massage or an ayurvedic body treatment my goal is to leave you feeling relaxed, renewed, and well cared for.
